You might think the point about geo-locatable suitcases is that they won't get lost. But a new spot from Delsey, promoting this feature in its "connected" luggage, is about much more than that--and might make you shed a tear.
The three-and-a-half minute film is created by French agency Buzzman and animated by Passion Pictures' Against All Odds, the team behind the Spanish Lottery's award-winning "Justino" ad. It centers around a workaholic business executive whose world is turned upside down when his father passes away. Dad left him a legacy however; a suitcase which, his app tells him, is currently in Mexico. When he gets there, of course it's not there, and the suitcase then leads him on a wild goose chase to Nepal, Shanghai, Vietnam and all manner of places before finally taking him back to Paris. Finally, he realizes that the "gift" is that of travel and adventure--plus he's grown a beard just like his father.
The film is running online and will also be broadcast on Air France flights this summer.
