Prince, who was born Prince Rogers Nelson in 1958 in Minnesota and died this morning, is widely considered one of the most influential musicians in popular music, blending pop, funk, soul, R&B and rock in a way few had done before. A prolific artist, releasing nearly 40 albums since his debut in 1978, Prince is perhaps best known for the "Purple Rain" movie and soundtrack, along with hits such as "Kiss" and "Little Red Corvette."

In more recent years, he was well known for his halftime show at the 2007 Super Bowl, sponsored by Pepsi, a performance that many are sharing on social media in the wake of his death, with some calling it one of the best halftime performances ever.
