A new film from Nike Football profiles the Port Arthur Memorial high school football team from the Texas city, the one hit the hardest by Hurricane Harvey. The documentary-style film sees players, coaches, and the entire community reflect on how they were affected by the hurricane and how football helped the community to heal. "It was the only thing that felt regular," says one player, as we see scenes of the whole community turning out to support the team and celebrate.
Content agency Empire Green in Portland created the film. A second film by the same team takes a look at the healthy rivalry between two historically black high schools in Houston, Jack Yates from the 3rd Ward and Phillis Wheatley from the 5th Ward, which have been playing against each other for more than 100 years.
