Pharrell Williams' video for his track "Freedom" is not just gorgeously filmed, stunning and entertaining-- it's also thought-provoking. This is the singer's latest collaboration with director Paul Hunter of Prettybird (who has directed several of his past videos including "Fever"). It contrasts images of repression -- from a chain-gang breaking rocks on a mountain and sweatshop workers to what seems to be a Lego recreation of Tiananmen Square -- with those of beauty and liberation, such as sweeping landscapes, horses running and whales diving in the ocean. Mingled in with all that are touches of the surreal (an astronaut floating in a Manhattan street) and the sublime (a gospel-style church choir). It's awe-inspiring stuff.
