Could This Ad Get Any More 'Swedish' if it Tried?

Andreas Nilsson Directs a Pair of Bearded Skaters for Cider Brand Rekorderlig

Editor's Pick

To launch the first global brand campaign for Rekorderlig, a Swedish premium cider brand, agency Saatchi & Saatchi London tried to create something quintessentially Swedish.

It engaged super-hot Swedish director Andreas Nilsson ( who helmed Volvo's Cannes-winning "Epic Split") to shoot this quirky spot featuring two bearded blond skaters and their earnest coach, who launches into song as they perform an increasingly bizarre routine out on the ice of a lake. The music -- Jon Henrik's Swedish folk track "Reindeer Herder" -- gives the spot a touch of the mystical, as well as adding to its quirky humor. The tagline is "Beautifully Swedish."
