It's a Beautiful Summer Day But Nobody's Outside in This PlayStation Ad

Spot Set to 'Brady Bunch' Tune 'Sunshine Day' Promotes Sony's Days of Play Promotion

Sony PlayStation's latest spot is set to the jaunty tune of "Sunshine Day" from American TV classic "The Brady Bunch." It's a beautiful day and we see a pool, an ice-cream truck by the ocean, a tennis court, a suburb full of houses with pools. But wait...there's something wrong. The pool is empty except for a solitary floating lilo, the ice creams are crawling with wasps, the tennis court is full of unplayed balls and the streets are silent. Has there been a zombie apocalypse, you might wonder? Happily (or, you might say, depressingly) no -- everyone's inside playing PlayStation.

The spot, by BBH New York, is part of a global initiative to celebrate gaming and promote the brand's Days of Play initiative being held in several markets. It runs from June 9-17.
