In this campaign for State Farm, U.S. Hispanic agency Alma tapped a unique technology to anchor a State Farm campaign that ultimately helped bring electricity to needy Latin American communities. "Play Today, Illuminate Tomorrow" started online, with a game on State Farm's Hispanic Facebook page. Players were challenged to keep a soccer ball in the air. For each minute they played, they earned points toward donating soccer balls to communities in need. But these were not just your average soccer balls. Thanks to the Soccket technology invented by a group of Harvard grads, balls are able to generate electricity. Every 15 minutes of play generates three hours of power for the kids' homes.
